College Football Playoffs: An 8 Team Bracket

Story and Multimedia by Monica Ortiz

The College Football playoffs had been discussed for years prior to their entrance in 2014 at AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It was a breakthrough year with the number four team Ohio State crowned as champion of the first ever college football playoffs.

With everything in me, I didn't want the number 1 or 2 team, Alabama or Oregon to win it all. That would defeat the purpose of the playoff. It would give reason for people to say it wasn't necessary.

It needed to be the underdog, and in this case it happened to be just that. The next two years, the number 1 and 2 team did make the national stage, but that first year gave the playoffs life.

However eight teams in the playoffs could make for a lot of fun. An upset is always possible.

What makes NFL football so entertaining? The playoffs.

Let's do away with 41 bowl games.

You can argue that NFL players are getting paid, but many college football players are on scholarships.

The four-team bracket tested the water and it showed real signs of potential. It's time to step up your game, College Football Playoffs.
